While in my twenties I was living and working in London (arguably a floral capital of the world) and upon my return I promised myself that I would try my creative hand at something I was truly passionate about. So I trained as a florist and started working in the industry, but being a passionate person, my passions are many and varied and floristry comes second only to love and family and in 2008 the birth of my beautiful daughter saw me not only enter an exciting new chapter in my life but the birth of my business.
As a commercial florist I felt limited: my creativity was capped and I was made to curtail the vision of my the bride in the interest of economizing, but mounting my own business and opening my own studio provided me with an opportunity to offer more and unleash my professional potential. I vowed to myself that I would do my utmost to adhere to my client’s floral requests while considering seasonality and sharing my extensive knowledge of flowers to ensure their choices were informed but ultimately, I just want my clients to be happy and I will always go the extra mile to make that happen.
I travel from Noosa to Byron Bay and everywhere in between to personally bring my creative concepts to life. I specialize in wedding and event floristry, which is not limited to but includes:
- Individually designed bridal blooms (from bouquets to button holes, corsages and floral crowns)
- Installations (floral walls, archways, arbors and architraves, hanging displays and chandeliers)
- Reception/event table settings (both arrangements and runners)
- Seating adornments (posies and or greenery)
- Ground cover and more…
There is no venue too big or budget too small for me to work my magic and I continue to work with many of the most respected names in the industry at both private residences and the most glamorous venues …and not just in Brisbane, but the expansion of Brisbane is something I’m very excited about. We live in a beautiful city that boasts a tropical climate and some of the most spectacular species of flowers that can taken in at iconic locations such as the beautiful Roma Street Parklands, Mount Cootha and the City Botanic Gardens but venues capable of housing large floral events are springing up all over the place and we are leading the way in event styling. It is an exciting time to be a floral stylist in Brisbane and I look forward to working on future events so grand they will turn the heads of industry professionals not just in Sydney and Melbourne but cosmopolitan cities around the world (some of which are already in the pipeline, but if you want to read more about that go to our NEWS section).
